Mr. Vogel is a member of the Judicial Council of Hawaii by appointment of the Chief Justice of the State. Vogel is the Chairman of the Air Force Civilian Advisory Council, and the President of the Deputies, the civilian organization supporting the Police and Fire Departments of Honolulu. He was appointed by the Secretary of Defense to the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference, and by the Secretary of the Air Force to the fifty- first National Security Forum. He is the Bailli Provincial Honoraire of the Confrerie da la Chaine des Rotisseurs in the Pacific. He is the recipient of the Kenneth O. Lester Memorial Award For Distinguished Community Service; The Consular Corps Distinguished Service Medal; The American Board of Trial Advocates ABOTA Award; and the Pacific Air Force Commanderˇ¦s Award for Public Service. Vogel is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and also has a Masterˇ¦s degree in law from New York University.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark has conferred the Royal Order of Knight of the Dannebrog upon Vogel.
